Those of you who know me will know how much I love my music, and each year I have my favourites.  This year is no different and again it has been a fantastic year for music.

Apart from the albums that I’ve listed, I managed to see some amazing gigs too.  I finally got to see (and meet) Frank Turner when he played at the Eden Sessions in the summer, but the highlight was The Melvins when they played ‘I’ll Be Your Mirror’ festival in London as support to Slayer.    Here’s looking towards 2013 when I know I’ll finally see the legendary Stone Roses, but until then I present my top 12 albums of 2012.

1. Mark Lanegan Band – Blues Funeral
2. Deftones – Koi No Yokan
3. Pig Destroyer – Book Burner
4. Matt Skiba and the Sekrets – Babylon
5. Bob Mould – Silver Age
6. NOFX – Self Entitled
7. Richard Hawley – Standing at the Sky’s Edge
8. Gallows – Gallows
9. Cancer Bats – Dead Set On Living
10. Dinosaur Jr. – I Bet On Sky
11. Bouncing Souls – Comet
12. Baroness – Yellow & Green
