Boardmasters Festival 2017
Yesterday Boardmasters Festival announced that they were about reveal first wave of acts for next year. When the posted this I was putting together this blog from Boardmasters Festival 2017, strange timing or a beautiful coincidence?
I was back at Boardmasters Festival this year as the official photographer for Cornwall Live / What’s On Cornwall. This year featured headliners Two Door Cinema Club, Jamiroquai and Alt-J.
Before I’d even photographed any live acts I joined Lee Trewhela when he went to interview Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips and Frank Turner. I definitely had a little fan boy moment with both of them!
It was great to be back at Boardmasters, but it wouldn’t have been possible for me without Lee Trewhela at Cornwall Live. Liam and the SW1 Team. Jamie and the LD Communications crew and all of the other photographers who made it such a fantastic weekend. Same time next year?
Onto the live music and Friday at Boardmasters brought us. Pulled Apart By Horses. Newton Faulkner. Lucy Rose. Frank Turner. The Flaming Lips. Slaves and Main Stage headliners Two Door Cinema Club.
The sun was shining on Boardmasters Saturday and showed why this is one of the greatest festival locations in the world!
It was great to be on site soaking up the atmosphere in the sun and trying to photograph as many bands as possible. On the saturday I caught great sets from. Palace. Nightmotor. Loyle Carner. Laura Mvula. Lethal Bizzle. The Rezner. The Vaccines. Wild Beasts. Dutch Uncles and Jamiroquai.
Sunday at Boardmasters will be remember for the storming set from Stormzy. The anticipation of his set could be felt all weekend leading up to his set. I think that all 50,000 festival goers turned out to see him.
