Brunel – Live – Mono Falmouth

Brunel - Live - Mono Falmouth

Brunel – Live – Mono Falmouth with support from Night Motor and the Spankees.
Brunel may be the best band I’ve seen so far at Falmouth’s newest music venue Mono!  Hailing from Plymouth, Brunel are currently in support of their excellent debut album ‘Smash On‘ – a tight mix of post-punk & hardcore with a nod in the direction of Shellac (which I personally loved).  It was a high energy set with vocalist Jim MacGregor spending as much time off the stage as on it.

Support came from Night Motor & the Spankees.  Night Motor are a unique blend of electro punk.  I wasn’t sure at first but by the end of the set I was hooked, and I don’t think you’ll find another band like them in the South West.  And the Spankees kicked the night off with their self proclaimed sound of ‘spank rock & paddle punk’.
