Lockdown in Cornwall
So, 2020 has been interesting, and we’re not even halfway through it! As I post this, the lockdown in Cornwall and the rest of the UK that has been in place since mid-March begins to relax.
In many different ways, it has affected us all. What was going to be my busiest year shooting weddings disappeared almost overnight. I got to photograph one wedding this year and as it stands, all of the weddings that I had booked from the end of March until the end of August have been rearranged.
But it has given me time to work on different aspects of the business and catch up on last year’s wedding blogs. It has also evolved into a new direction with Family Photography. Not just my own family either. I am now booking more Family Sessions that I have ever done.
As a family, the lockdown has given us lots of quality time together, this has been amazing to watch the children grow & adapt. But at times it has been hard & tiring. Both Michelle & I have continued to work through it all and that isn’t easy trying to do it from home with the children.
In years from now when people talk about 2020 and the lockdown, we will remember the sunny days spent in the garden, the time when Jesse took his first steps & learned to walk, and Martha riding her bike without stabilisers. Both pretty big milestones in their lives.
Martha is also becoming a budding photographer herself, all of the pictures here that I am in have been taken by her! She’s already asking if she can come along to a future wedding, but I guess that maybe just to eat the cake.
And as you’ll see from this collection the memories that I have captured, we will look back on and treasure.
