Freya’s family have a long tradition of hiring youth hostels to host family parties, which they both love. ‘It felt like a great way of celebrating that and the perfect way for our families to come together, while also being able to get creative with the simple space and make it extra special for a wedding. We wanted to be surrounded by nature and wanted our day to have a relaxed, simple, homely and fun feel to it.

Frey & Kian’s Bracken Tor Wedding was a DIY family party. It was colourful, fun & chilled. 

‘Our day exceeded our expectations. We did almost all of the decorating ourselves as well as the cake, music and most of the flowers! Our family and friends who helped with this absolutely smashed it, and the day ran really smoothly. We both expected to feel some stress on the day but we both just had the most incredible time. 

Our favourite memories have to be the ceremony, watching everyone we love have such a fun and relaxed time sitting in the sun and the samosas, which our guests are still talking to us about regularly to this day!’

‘We wanted a friendly, talented photographer who could capture lovely candid moments. We didn’t plan a very formal wedding, and we hoped that our photos would capture the laid-back nature of the day and everyone enjoying themselves. Brian did a great job getting the classic photos – family of bride/groom, bridesmaids etc but he particularly did a fantastic job of getting the key moments for us, like people playing volleyball and on the dance floor. The video he took was amazing too and captured the feel of the day perfectly. We would recommend Brian for any event’.
