St Mawes Castle Wedding | Caroline & Mark
Being a Wedding Photographer in Cornwall I get to spend time with amazing couples at some stunning venues. Caroline & Mark’s St Mawes Castle Wedding was my second visit to St Mawes Castle, and what a day it was!
I love a St Mawes Castle Wedding, the village has a lot of character and is far from sleepy in the summer. The views over the water are breathtaking and the Castle adds a little bit of Cornish magic to it. For Caroline & Mark’s St Mawes Castle Wedding they booked my Short Day Package. And although this meant that I only got to spend small part of their wedding day with them, it allowed me to get the ferry from Falmouth. Not a bad way to start & finish a Wedding Day.
I first met Caroline & Mark though a mutual friend many years back and it turned out we had a shared love of heavy metal and ale. This love of heavy metal and ale was an underlining theme to the day. The ceremony music featured instrumentals from Opeth, The Sword, Death and Borknagar. And they made their own wedding beer called ‘Cormoran’.
After the ceremony everyone gathered on the castle grounds with the backdrop of Falmouth and the smell of pasties in the air. No Wedding in Cornwall is complete without the famous pasty making an appearance. After they’d been eaten, we had time for some group and couple shots before it was time to go.
Did it all end here? Of course not! As I sailed away back to Falmouth Caroline & Mark took the wedding party to St Austell Brewery where the celebrations continued.
