Best of 2021 Wedding Photography

best of 2021 wedding photography

Well, that was a busy year!

A year that started in lockdown, weddings being postponed, cancelled and rescheduled. And then 6 months of back to back weddings, secret proposals, the return of photographing Live Music and all the days in-between spent editing. I loved it, and I’d missed it.

Best of 2021 Wedding Photography

The first few weddings of 2021 started in the way we’d become accustomed to. Small gatherings, masks, social distancing and no dancing! Then life started to return to some form of normality, and boy did it feel good. Being back at a wedding (and especially the dancefloor) was like a cathartic experience. With big groups of people singing, dancing and celebrating those weddings!

And those hugs seemed to mean a little bit more to everybody.

I always love putting the annual round-up together. It’s a good chance to evaluate and remember why I love being part of a wedding. The excitement, the nerves, the pride, the laughter and the tears (both of happiness and emotion). All of these make the pictures that you see here.

2021 brought in a few new experiences too. I got to photograph some secret proposals and witness many nervous individuals ask their loved ones to marry them. I was working with Rebel & Anchor, who help to organise the proposals. And there is nowhere better than Cornwall for a beach proposal at sunset.

There was also the NineDots Gathering. A three-day wedding photography conference in London, full of learning, inspiration and community. I returned with a mind bursting full of creative ideas to take forward to my 2022 weddings.

And If you’ve been on my blog recently, you might notice that it’s been quite some time since I’ve posted anything. As yet, I haven’t blogged any of my 2021 weddings, so this is also a celebration of some of my favourite pictures from 2021 from the weddings that you won’t have seen.

It’s also a look forward to some of the weddings that I’ll be sharing with you in the coming months.

I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to photograph some wonderful weddings and all of these images from 2021 are all amazing stories that my couples will be telling for years to come.

Of course, looking back at this year also means looking forward to what’s in store for 2022. I already have a lot in the diary and as cheesy as it sounds, I feel like I have the best possible job in the world!

Thankyou to all of my couples who put their faith in me. And thanks for checking out my Best of 2021 Wedding Photography.
