Nancarrow Farm is nestled in a picturesque valley near Truro, surrounded by rolling hills, fields, and woodlands. It offers a variety of beautiful settings for your wedding ceremony and reception.
The hay barn where Tara & Dean married has been lovingly restored and transformed into a beautiful and rustic wedding venue. It has a mix of traditional and contemporary elements that come together and the September sun poured through the gaps giving some amazing shadows and creating a truly unique atmosphere.
And when Tara & Dean married in the barn, it was a unique atmosphere.
Picture the scene… The guests are gathered, Dean is standing at the front with his groomsmen awaiting Tara’s arrival and the registrar asks everyone to stand.
The barn goes quiet and the opening theme from Top Gun starts. It was like a scene from the 80’s classic film. As the music kicked in, the barn doors opened and Tara walked in. All we needed was a smoke machine! It was an amazing way to start the ceremony.
After the ceremony, the festivities began. Tara & Dean’s guests were lined up outside of the barn to shower them in confetti as they made their exit. The confetti is one of the traditions that I love as they make for epic photos! The air is full of colour as they walk through the flying confetti and there is lots of laughter and smiles. If I could offer one piece of advice for confetti… ‘Buy more than you need‘!
They led their guests to the courtyard, where everyone indulged in a few drinks and Nancarrow Farms’ delicious canapés. The warm and inviting atmosphere of Nancarrow encourages guests to mingle, share stories, and connect. And as a photographer, I love watching and capturing this. One of the highlights was Dean’s parents, they were unable to make the wedding but he got a surprise to find them there made of cardboard. Seeing the cutouts appear throughout the day was hilarious.
Being a warm September, much of the day was spent outside in the courtyard and the speeches were delivered from the steps of the oak barn before everyone sat for the wedding breakfast.
Now the food is what really sets Nancarrow Farm apart, it’s absolutely incredible! From the moment you arrive you can smell the wood-fired kitchen and Nancarrow are passionate about serving locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. All cooked to perfection by their tallented team of chefs.
And it’s not just in the kitchen where the attention to detail shines.
The wedding team at Nancarrow Farm truly cares about making your wedding day as special as possible. They worked closely with Tara & Dean creating their bespoke Nancarrow Farm wedding that they dreamed of.
As the sun began to set we were blessed with an incredible golden hour and took a walk into the wildflower meadow for some portrait shots. It was then it was back to the barn for the party to begin. They kicked into the evening with an energetic first dance to Ike & Tina Turner’s ‘Proud Mary‘. This set the tone for what was an incredible party, and their guests dancing all night. I loved every minute.
