Scorrier House is a country house and estate in the very heart of Cornwall and is home to weddings and memorable events. And from the moment that Ellie & Alex walked into Scorrier House, they knew nothing would compare to it.
When you get married at Scorrier, the whole house and grounds are completely yours for the day. And that was one of the things that sold it to Ellie & Alex. As Ellie said ‘I mean, the staircase speaks for itself!’

It was a real honour to photograph Ellie & Alex’s Scorrier House Wedding wedding in the heart of Cornwall. This stunning venue is unique and something very special indeed.
I arrived at Scorrier House on the morning of the wedding, Ellie and her bridal party were getting ready in the bridal suites. Everyone was relaxed and it created such a great atmosphere to start the day.
There was a beautiful moment when Ellie’s Dad first saw her in her wedding dress. This is one of my favourite parts of being a wedding photographer in Cornwall, as I get to share these incredibly personal moments.
My second photographer was with Alex and the boys as they got ready nearby and then it was onto the Fourlanes Church where the couple finally met for their beautiful ceremony.
After they said their “I dos,” and the obligatory first kiss, they exited the church to their guests lined on either side of the path, poised with confetti!
Ellie & Alex then headed back to Scorrier House which was looking incredible and was set for the arrival with canapés and drinks ready. The rest of the wedding party followed aboard the vintage King Harry Coaches, which looked great arriving at Scorrier House.
With everyone together, Ellie & Alex took the chance to get a few group shots which then gave them the rest of the day to have as much time with their loved ones as possible.
The vibe for the reception was to just enjoy their day with great company and a stunning view of the Scorrier House grounds. Everyone was relaxed and taking in the celebrations.
After a few drinks with everyone outside, we sat down to some pretty funny and emotional speeches and the wedding breakfast.
It is a beautiful location to be a Scorrier House Wedding Photographer and as the sun began to set we made use of the grounds for some portrait shots before heading back inside for an evening of dancing.
Ellie said: ‘People always say there will always be something that goes a little wrong, you can’t get perfection” but I can honestly say our day was perfect. Nothing could have gone better!‘
