Alverton Hotel Micro Wedding | Jen & JP
‘Honestly, the photos are so wonderful. I can’t quite believe how many you captured. They are so perfect.
We’re so grateful’ xx
Love Always Wins!
Jen & JP’s Alverton Hotel Micro Wedding took place on an autumnal day last year in the middle of a global pandemic. Their day was originally planned for the summer, but covid made them wait a little longer.
I was invited to photograph their day and create memories that’ll last them a lifetime. They have also planned a second wedding day in late 2021 when big parties, dancing and hugging will be allowed again. And I will be there to capture it all again for them.
Jen & JP’s love story began in 2012 after JP had moved to Cornwall from Kent, and they got together almost straight away!
They chose the Alverton as the venue is so striking, the Great Hall is straight out of a fairytale and they loved the grandeur of the rooms. The gardens are beautiful and with everything contained within the one venue, they didn’t have to worry about transport or the weather.
Their day was originally planned for June 2020, but when restrictions were put in place they had to move the date to October with a maximum of 15 guests. With live music and dancing not permitted, they decided to plan a second wedding day in 2021 where a full celebration can happen. So in the end they had a Micro Wedding with nine guests made up of their parents, siblings, and their little boy Ted.
Looking back on the day, Jen & JP said, ‘The day exceeded our expectations in every way. Instead of the big wedding that we had planned, we had a perfectly simple day. We had time to spend our day with the most important people in our lives, we weren’t rushed and could appreciate every detail. Our ceremony and dinner felt so intimate and romantic. It was like we had reduced it down into its essential elements. The venue was stunning, Greg and the team took care of every detail and Brian felt like a friend by the end of the day.’

For their Wedding Photography, Jen & JP were keen on a relaxed style with lots of natural photos of them and their guests enjoying themselves. They didn’t want to spend too long posing for photos but still capture the beauty of the venue and our outfits.
Jen said ‘Brian did this perfectly and the resulting photos looked straight out of a wedding magazine, we loved them. Even though we had a very intimate wedding Brian blended into the background and we didn’t notice him there and our family were blown away by the quality of the images and how he captured the feeling of the day.’
