Holly & George both adore music and it’s one of the first things that united us when we first spoke about their day. (And I think we talked more about music than the wedding)!

When planning their day, they wanted an intimate Cornish wedding with their closest family and friends and Chypraze is the perfect combination of coast and country. When they first visited the Barn, they said it was so laid back and welcoming and they knew it was the perfect place for us. 

For their Wedding Photography, Holly & George wanted my documentary style, that was unposed and captured all the emotion & moments of the day.

The Venue
With its original stone walls and wooden beams, Chypraze brings warmth and character. It accommodates up to 80 guests for ceremonies and 180 for evening celebrations.
The Ceremony Locations
As well as the main Barn, you have a few outdoor options where you can exchange vows:

• The Ponds – A tranquil spot with sweeping ocean views and the resident geese.
• The Beach Field – A wild coastal pasture overlooking Portheras Cove.

The Beach
At every wedding that I’ve photographed at Chypraze Wedding Barn, the couple and their guests have gone down to Portheras Cove. It’s a highlight and worth factoring in a few hours of your day to make the trip.

• Top-Tip. If you head down to the beach, bring some spare shoes that are good for a rugged Cornish coast path. And although it’s only half a mile, it’s a pleasant walk down. But the return is all uphill. But you’ll be ready for your dinner when you get back.

And Talking of Food
With an on-site butchery, Chypraze Farm offers farm-to-table dining featuring free-range Hereford beef, Saddleback pork and a feast of fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

I often joke that I only photograph weddings for the food, and it’s especially true when coming to Chypraze.
