Nicola & Lynsey chose Beacon Crag because of the location. They wanted to get married somewhere that meant a lot to them, and with Nicola’s Dad living in Porthleven, it seemed like the obvious choice.
A shared love of the outdoors, the ocean and adventure, Nicola & Lynsey have spent a lot of time in Cornwall together and have often walked the coast path from Porthleven to Praa Sands. The path takes you straight past Beacon Crags front door and when they realised that you could have a Beacon Crag Wedding, they knew it was the perfect place.
The girls said, ‘We loved that we could make Beacon Crag our own, and it was great fun choosing the marquee and decorations. We could make it as informal as we liked – and unique to us’.
‘Neither of us had grown up thinking we were going to get married so we were pretty relaxed about the whole thing. We wanted it to be fun and informal and for everyone to enjoy the celebration, especially as covid meant people hadn’t been able to come together for a very long time.
‘The day was so much better than we could ever have hoped for. We knew it was going to be special but nothing quite prepares you for the sheer joy of celebrating your love with all of your friends and family. We were fully prepared for all weather eventualities (we’d bought ponchos and blankets for all of our guests) but despite a bit of drizzle in the morning, the skies cleared just in time for our ceremony. We had the most perfect sunset down on the rocks; watching the waves roll in and the moon come up was just the most magical moment, and well worth having slightly soggy dresses thanks to a rock pool or two’.

With family ties to Porthleven, Beacon Crag was the perfect location for what Nicola & Lynsey wanted for their wedding and they booked my Full Day plus Album Package, as well as adding a second photographer.
Choosing the right photographer was important to Nicola & Lynsey. They wanted someone who would fit in with the relaxed feel of their wedding, but also take beautiful pictures.
They said, ‘We both work in TV and can be quite fussy about the style of shots, but once we saw Brian’s portfolio we knew we wouldn’t be disappointed. We wanted photos that would make the most of the beautiful landscape and Brian was more than happy to clamber down onto the rocks with us. And without being intrusive he captured all of our special moments perfectly!
