Sparkford Hall Wedding
Looking to get married at Sparkford Hall?
Sarah & Dan’s Sparkford Hall Wedding was one of the most incredible weddings that I’ve shot and should give you plenty of inspiration. They took every element of Sparkford Hall and made it their own.

Sarah & Dan are Captain & First mate on a super yacht and personalised their wedding with a nautical theme and love of the ocean. Their motto for the wedding was ‘Work like a Captain, party like a pirate’.
There was also rum… Lots & lots of rum!

Sparkford Hall Wedding | Sarah & Dan
Forget about the traditional wedding norms, because Sarah & Dan’s Sparkford Hall Wedding took the rulebook and tossed it aside for an unforgettable weekend like no other.
Sparkford Hall is not your average wedding venue. And that was a perfect fit for Sarah & Dan as they wanted something different and decadent for their wedding. And, that’s exactly my kind of wedding!
Sparkford Hall is described as ‘Somerset’s Most Exclusive Private Venue…’ It’s a grand Georgian mansion set in secluded grounds shared only with a pair of tame Llamas, a few ponies and a brace of ducks. And it makes for an incredible location for a weddings. Sparkford gace Sarah & Dan the freedom and creativity for their weekend.
As I arrived at Sparkford on Friday evening as guests were arriving and the final preparations were happening. The post party rum had already began to flow and as the sun set, people gathered around the outdoor fire pit.
The next morning Sparkford came alive, filled with amazing prep, both bride and groom. An amazing ceremony in the house, then out side for lawn games and champagne.
Following the wedding breakfast and speeches was the party… Now wedding parties are always an important part of the day but this one took it to the next level, and just when everyone thought the party was over Sarah & Dan surprised everyone with the venue’s cellar bar which had been transformed into a Rum Shack.
The following day saw the wedding party blow away their hangovers and continue to celebrate. Touch rugby, inflatable balls, a bbq, and of course, more rum.
Their Sparkford Hall Wedding was more that just a ceremony, it was a celebration and an experience that brought family & friends together.

Sparkford Hall Wedding Photography
For their Sparkford Hall Wedding, Sarah & Dan wanted the photography to match their alternative approach to their wedding and they booked me for the weekend (Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime).
Full weekend wedding photography coverage is becoming more popular, so if you’re looking for a documentary wedding photographer for your Sparkford Hall Wedding, or anywhere else in the UK, then please get in touch. I’d love to hear all about it and have the opportunity to be your Wedding Photographer.
Why do couples love a Sparkford Hall Wedding?
Easy, because it throws tradition out the window. …In the best way.
This offbeat Georgian manor in the wilds of Somerset is anything but conventional.
It’s a haven for couples who want a wedding that feels like a weekend-long house party, festival, or a creative free-for-all. (Perfect for my style of wedding photography).
From velvet-draped drawing rooms to a secret underground nightclub and sprawling, unmanicured grounds, Sparkford Hall sets the stage for something truly personal and joyfully unconventional.
Here, you can get married under ancient trees, feast in a candlelit barn, or dance barefoot until dawn. There are no fixed rules, no stiff schedules, just total freedom to make the space your own.
And if you’re after photos that are a little less “traditional wedding album” and a lot more statement piece, Sparkford Hall has you covered.
- Walled Garden – Overgrown, moody, and romantic. Like a secret garden with attitude.
- Apple Orchard – Wild, rustic, and perfect for barefoot champagne shots.
- Alpacas + Animals – Because who doesn’t want a llama in their wedding pics?
- The Library – Vintage books, velvet chairs. Think Wes Anderson vibes.
- Main Staircase – Grand, dramatic, made for kickass entrance shots.
- Underground Club – Neon lights, party cave energy. Flash photography heaven.
- The Barn / Marquee – Your blank canvas for disco balls, fairy lights, or full-on festival chic.
Whether you’re after a boho outdoor ceremony, a moody gothic reception, or a rave-in-the-cellar kind of night, Sparkford Hall is a dream for couples who want their wedding to feel real, wild, and 100% them.
