Debbie & Owen – Gwennap Church Wedding
Last summer was Debbie & Owen – Gwennap Church Wedding, It’s a beautiful little church just off the main road between Falmouth & Redruth. And although it was summer, it turned out to be a classic British Summers Day with plenty of rain. The rain certainly didn’t affect Debbie & Owen’s Wedding and added a different kind of beauty to the day.
I first met Debbie & Owen after they were referred to me by a mutual friend. We had at chat at the BlueBar in Porthtowan, which overlooks one of my favourite surfing beaches in Cornwall. Forward to the big day and I was at the Church shortly before Owen, who arrived with one of their dogs Holly. Holly also had the important job of being ring bearer during the ceremony. Another important role for the day was undertaken by Debbie’s mother Jenny, who joined the Gwennap Church Bell Ringers to welcome Debbie’s arrival.
Debbie is a member of the Redruth Amateur Operatic Society Trust and they came along to play a big part during the Wedding Ceremony. It was a lovely personal touch to the day as they were the choir, providing fine voice to the chosen songs & hymns. Thanks to the rain we had to change our plans of going to Porthtowan Beach for some pictures. Within the Church grounds at Gwennap there is a beautiful tree lined walkway which gave us the perfect alternative. I think you’ll agree that it gave the day a different kind of beautiful.
