Picture setting sail in Cornwall after saying your “I do’s”. Sounds like an absolute dream doesn’t it?
Well, that’s exactly what Joanna & Oli did. When it came to creating their perfect wedding, they wanted it to be about spending time with their loved ones and having one big celebration. And with their love of Cornwall and sailing, Mylor Harbour was the location.

Joanna and Oli had such a beautiful wedding, focused on family and friends with lots of lovely touches like the post-wedding river cruise, and their reception at Castaways, which is the perfect wedding hideaway.
Mylor has been an important place for them throughout their relationship and knew it was the perfect place to say ‘I do!’ The thriving marina offered both a beautiful setting for their wedding celebrations and an incredible backdrop for their couple’s portraits. Both on and off the water.
Joanna got ready with her family and bridesmaids at Penarrow House and then headed over to St Mylor Church.
The sun was shining which made for the most perfect wedding photography weather and especially for setting sail on board the ‘Moyana’ for their Wedding Cruise.
After the cruise, we took photographs around the harbour and along the water’s edge. Then it was onto Castaways Mylor for welcome drinks and their wedding breakfast. Guests took advantage of the Cornish summer and drank outside in the evening before dancing the night away.
Its location at the heart of the Fal River makes Mylor one of the tranquil places in Cornwall to get married. It is one of those gorgeous locations where you can come for the entire weekend. So arrive on a Friday evening, have a lovely dinner with your nearest and dearest, then have a leisurely morning getting ready for your big day. It means that weddings there tend to be very relaxed, so I love shooting them.
