Last year I entered I entered The Wedding Industry Awards in their Wedding Photographer Of The Year category. And I reached the South West Regional Finals.
Just to become a finalist in the South West region is a huge achievement as I was alongside some amazing photographers, a few of whom are friends.
I love being a Wedding Photographer in Cornwall, so to be recognised is a great accolade. And although I didn’t win the award, I felt like I’d won after hearing the feedback from my wedding couples.
Honest feedback is incredibly humbling, but it is also valuable for couples who are searching for a wedding photographer.
One of the big parts of The Wedding Industry Awards judging process is the feedback that is provided by the couples. And after all of the awards are finished I get to see what what people think about me, my business and their experience of having me as their wedding photographer.
There is also the chance for couples to leave constructive criticism. Although this part of the feedback was not shown to the judging panel it was passed on to me. This is a great help and is intended to help businesses find areas in which they might improve.
Below is the amazing feedback that I received from my couples. I love what I do so this means a lot.

Brian was fantastic throughout, making a really easy day for us and going the extra mile to get some excellent shots.
We were a small job (only photos between wedding and dinner, no ceremony or party shots) but Brian was just as committed to getting the photos we wanted as if we were booking the full day.
Needless to say, the photos were fantastic and we’ve recommended Brian to everyone we’ve met since!

I cannot recommend Brian enough. Our wedding photos are wonderful, looking back at them brought back so many memories of the day.
Brian captured candid moments from throughout the day, many of these have a story to tell. He was friendly, never intrusive. Many pictures I look at and think, I don’t recall seen him there taking that photo.
He made us feel relaxed and not rushed. He had a great eye and idea for backdrop for the photos. He mingled and chatted with guests. Always professional.

He was so relaxed and just went with the flow of the day, taking us aside for couples photos when we had good moments. Brian captured all the joy, emotion and craziness of the day.
He gave us a questionnaire to fill in before the day and can see he used this for our photos and followed our requests. The online gallery is really easy to use after and we really enjoyed the photo slideshow. Definitely recommend him!
Constructive Criticism: We thought all the photos were amazing, but we noticed some people didn’t really get photographed. I understand it’s hard to capture everyone (especially with 150 guests) and Brian was clearly focused on us and our requests. Just something we didn’t think about before.
